The journey to the finals began in July, with a secret panel of judges visiting bars across Park City to sample over 20 original cocktails crafted by local bartenders. The judging process involved quiet, anonymous sips without any formal scoresheets or prior notice. After careful deliberation, ten exceptional cocktails were chosen for the live competition.

The finale was anything but subdued. Floor-to-ceiling windows at Silver Lake Lodge framed the stage, packed with spectators, flashing cameras, twin bar stations, and music by DJ Dolph. The drinks were not the only things with personality.
